All beings are creative. Creativity comes from personal memories, experience, and knowledge. It is a place of self-expression and exploration. We must play and experiment with our imagination as it helps us grow as artists, thinkers, and individuals. When we share our minds with each other, we are sharing our perspective and ourselves.
I sit at my desk, blank page in my sketchbook open, with a pencil, pen, and watercolors by my side. I have the urge to make art, but am not sure what to make. All I do is start making marks and color on paper. This is how I begin my creative exercises. Whether it be playing with materials, sketching what lies in front of me, or feeling inspired by life experience, these moments of play and exploration improve my creativity. Without exercising my creativity, my art would not evolve and change. Creativity is a tool and using this tool has enhanced my artistic practice and myself as an individual.
I want to bring my creativity to classrooms and museums. Like mentioned before, all beings are creative. In settings such as classrooms and museums, there are diverse learners, viewers, and individuals. Emphasizing how to exercise creativity and why it strengthens learning and personal experiences is what I would like to integrate into the community. Integrating creativity and the arts into the community can support educating and connecting with each other.
